Why You Should Deep Condition Your Natural Hair Weekly

Why you should deep condition your natural hair weekly
Giving your natural hair a deep conditioning treatment should be part of your weekly routine. Deep conditioning does not mean using ordinary conditioner, no, you have to use a homemade deep conditioning recipe or a good deep conditioner product.

Advantages of regular deep conditioning

Deep conditioning your hair weekly prevents damage to your hair.
It moisturises your hair, improves the texture of your hair, penetrates your hair shaft and reduces breakage and split ends. Even if you feel your hair is not damaged, deep conditioning it will help maintain the health of your hair.

Deep conditioning promotes hair elasticity by preventing your hair from being in the dry and brittle state which causes it to snap and break. It does this by nourishing, strengthening and moisturises your hair from within.
Deep conditioning repairs the damage that has been done to the hair by too much manipulation, smooths the hair shaft and adds the lustre and shine your hair desperately needs.

I usually use this natural conditioner from Everyday Botanicals. It's made with a plant-based formula and it hydrates and moisturises my curls very well.
It's made with argan oil and exotic osmanthus flower, which leaves your hair stronger while reducing breakage and healing the scalp!

The Process:

• Wash your hair with a sulphate free shampoo (whenever you are buying a shampoo for natural hair, check to make sure that it does not contain sodium sulphate).

• Remove the excess water with a towel.

• Apply your deep conditioning treatment; make sure it covers every part of your hair from root to tip, especially the tips.

• Cover your hair with a plastic cap and go about your business in the house.

• After about 1 hour, detangle your hair with your fingers and then wash off the product.

• Remove the excess water with a towel. Do not dry with a hair dryer.

• Apply your leave-in conditioner and oil/cream. Let your hair air-dry.

Deep conditioning your natural hair regularly makes it easier to manage. It softens and moisturises your hair which makes it easier to comb and style.

I recommend this product highly, it worked wonders on my hair!
