4 Ways To Treat Adult Acne With Oatmeal

4 ways to treat adult acne with oatmeal

There are several things that can cause the appearance of acne on our face and body, some of which stays well into our adult years. I used to think (or maybe hope, lol) that I would outgrow acne once I grow out of my teenage years, but acne had other plans for me. Not until I started using natural remedies before I saw great results.
Adult acne is terrible I tell you!
Some of the causes of adult acne are hormonal imbalance, stress, poor diet, certain types of medication, etc.
As I've said before, to treat acne, natural remedies are always your best bet. They're super affordable, you know exactly what you're putting on your body, and there are hardly any side effects (unless you're allergic to one of the products. But you should know the ones to avoid right?

One of the best natural remedies for the treatment of acne is oatmeal. Good old oatmeal. This happens to be my favourite things to have for breakfast (but now my stomach is sharing it with my face, hehe).

Why oatmeal is effective in treating adult acne

√ Oatmeal prevents your pores from clogging up, by absorbing the excess oil.

√ It exfoliates the skin and removes all the other toxins in your pores.

√ It has anti-inflammatory properties that help to reduce the swelling, redness and irritations that are associated with acne.

√ Oatmeal eliminates dead and dry skin cells to reveal a rejuvenated skin.

√ It dries up and shrinks pimples until they disappear.

√ It prevents the appearance of pimples and whiteheads and also prevents future acne breakouts.

√ It helps your skin to retain its natural moisture, thereby preventing over dryness.

√ The anti-microbial properties found in oatmeal helps to kill the acne-causing bacteria.

√ The powerful antioxidants in oatmeal helps the skin to retain its firmness and elasticity, thereby delaying the appearance of wrinkles by a few years.

√ It can restore hormonal balance because of the magnesium, selenium and zinc in it help to regulate oil production.

There are so many other reasons oatmeal scrub is wonderful for acne treatment, but I'll stop here.
